"It is not what you shout out to the world
that determines your life;
it is what you whisper to yourself that has the most power. "

โHi friends,
Thank you for taking time to meet me for this week's Mid-Point. As I continue to pivot in my newsletter content, I am exploring who might benefit most from Uplift and Mend, and the direction it will steer my content.
Mental Health
In my recent Mid-Points, I discussed the pivoting of my narrative, from revisiting my roots to sharing my story about why Uplift and Mend was born. Of course, the common denominator in all of my content is Complex Trauma (CPTSD) and subsequently, mental health.
Initially, when I started this endeavor I was trying to appeal to anyone affected by CPTSD, help educate and raise awareness, help offer resources for support, provide hope for healing, and optimism for a happy life beyond trauma.
However, the more I learn about complex trauma, its nuances, consequences, and fallout, the more I am recognizing a parallel with navigating my mental health as a content creator.
As a Content Creator, my goals personally are to self-actualize, share my healing journey, and offer hope to others who are encountering similar mental friction. In the midst of this, I am realizing how my mental health is affecting my progress professionally.
I have realized the likelihood I am not the only creator who battles this.
Content Creation
Complex Trauma (brain injury) and Content Creation (creative thinking) are two vastly different topics, but they share many similarities in terms of obstacles and challenges:
โ๏ธ Emotional Overwhelm (Burnout and Exhaustion)
โ๏ธ Fear of Vulnerability (Rejection and Avoidance)
โ๏ธ Impostor Syndrome (Negative Self-Perception)
โ๏ธ Isolation and Loneliness (Abandonment)
I am discovering that while I am navigating these mental health challenges in my own trauma treatment and recovery, I am doing the same as a creator.
I am seeing an overlap.
Not only am I navigating self-support in my healing journey, but self-support in my content creating.
As my opening quote infers:
Content creation is what we say to the world.
Mental health is what we say to ourselves.
Re-cap
Complex trauma and content creation share similar mental health challenges.
Using the tools and resources I am learning in managing my complex trauma, I am recognizing Content Creators can benefit from mental health support.
In the coming newsletters, I will be exploring this connection and how to cultivate and foster support for Creators.
What Do You Think?
Are you a Creator (or know one) who is trying to balance mental health support while managing a creator business?
If you have any thoughts or experiences to share, I would appreciate hearing them.
Just reply to this message!
